Tomorrow is orange and black day. Show your Halloween spirit and wear orange and black tomorrow. No costumes please.
A reminder that we are a nut free class. If you are sending in Halloween treats with your child, please make sure that they are Nut Free.
New word wall words are on the blog and in your child's agenda.
In math today we practiced counting to 40 by 1s and 2s and we counted to 100 by 1s. We also worked on solving an inquiry math problem. If you have time tonight read this math problem to your child and see if they can solve it:
Tom has 10 tiles in a bag. Some of the tiles are green and some of the tiles are yellow. How many green and yellow tiles could be in the bag? See if your child can come up with 2 different ways to solve this question (i.e., there could by 5 yellow and 5 green, there could be 9 green and 1 yellow). Ask your child why there can't be 10 yellow in the bag.
In language today, we chanted out this week’s word wall words and then wrote a sentence in our journals. If you have time tonight, please ask your child to read this week’s word wall words to you and then tell you a sentence using the word for.
We also learned how a pumpkin grows. Ask your child to tell you the steps of how a pumpkin grows (plant seeds, water and sun make a sprout grow, then green leaves grow on the vine, then yellow flowers grow, next a green pumpkin grows and finally the green pumpkin turns into an orange pumpkin).
Have a great evening.
